Compass Paper Plate Craft - Camping Craft

Which way to camp? This paper plate compass craft turns a paper plate into a working compass, with red and yellow arrows attached by a metal brad so they really spin. It's a hands-on way to introduce north, south, east, and west.

What's Included

• Printable compass arrow template pieces
• Materials list and step-by-step directions
• Photo visual tutorial
• Helpful tips for adapting the craft
• Color and black-and-white writing pages

Bonus Learning

Children label the cardinal and intermediate directions around the plate, so map skills come along with the cutting and gluing. Once it's finished, try a quick game of pointing the arrow toward different spots in the room.

Best Used For

• Camping and outdoor adventure units
• Map skills and social studies lessons
• Summer camp, centers, and homeschool
